Questions

What is a matchiversary?

The anniversary of the day you two matched on a dating app. Matchiversary lets you celebrate it with a profile of your partner, made by you: the way you see them.

Is this a dating app?

No. Nobody is looking for a date here. It's a gift for the person you already found.

Who can see the profile?

Only people you send the private link to. It is never listed or searchable, you can switch the link off anytime, and you can delete everything.

What does it cost?

Making and sharing a profile is free. Optional extras, like a personal link that opens on your day, are paid.

Do I need an account?

Yes, so only you can edit your profiles. No password: we email you a sign-in link.

If the basic version is free, am I the product?

No. We don't sell data and don't show ads. We only keep what the site needs to work, which is your email address for signing in (and for the newsletter, if you ask for it) and the profiles and photos you make. To see how the site is used, we count anonymous clicks and interactions without knowing who it was, and use Cloudflare's cookieless statistics for page views and loading speed. Neither sets cookies or builds a profile of you.

Who else handles my data?

A few services run parts of the site for us and may only use your data for that. Supabase stores accounts, profiles and photos, in the EU (Ireland). Cloudflare hosts the website and provides the page-view statistics; like any web host, it sees technical data such as your IP address. Stripe processes payments, only if you buy something. Brevo sends the newsletter, only if you sign up for it. Printed cards we print and post ourselves, from Switzerland, so the address stays with us. If you delete your account, your profiles and photos are deleted with it. Paid orders are the exception: Swiss law requires us to keep a record of them for 10 years. After you delete your account, that record is no longer linked to you.

What is the question before the profile?

An extra that comes with a personal link or a postcard: before the profile opens, the link asks a question only your favourite person can answer, like where your first date was. Capitals and accents don't matter, and after five wrong tries it waits an hour, so strangers can't just guess. It's a small lock, not a safe: someone who knows you well might get it, so pick something only the two of you know. We never store the answer as written.
